About Eureka, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Eureka is a small Illinois town which may be quiet but is not without history and allure. The town is quaint, peaceful and ideal for raising kids. It is a college town but the school is very small and there are not a huge number of college students everywhere you go. There is a balanced mixture of ages, races and income brackets. This balance is also exemplified by seasonal weather. It is cold in the winter but sunshiny and warm in the summer.
Eureka College is a private liberal arts college associated with the Christian Church. It is likely most famous for being the alma mater of President Ronald Reagan, who graduated in 1932 and remained very committed to and loyal to the college. The Reagan Museum and Peace Garden at Eureka College is a top sightseer location in the town and was renovated in 2011. The special collection section at the library on campus is home to a special Reagan collection and is estimated to be the second largest center of Reagan memorabilia. This is only compared the Reagan Presidential Library in California. Eureka College was designated as a national historic district in the early part of the millennium. These are all great spots to check out when the weather is too hot in the summer or a bit cold in the winter.
If the weather is nice and you are looking to get outside and have some fun, Kaufman Park is the local 9-hole golf course. In addition, Eureka Lake Park has picnic grounds, fishing, an annual Fourth of July fireworks display and more. Summertime and spring break fun can be found at the many local parks and waterways. It is such a great place to spend the warm weather seasons. At the beginning of August, when it is hot out and the leaves have not yet fallen, the adjacent community of Metamora hosts the annual "Metamora 4x50" race (a 200-mile cycling event). Competitors and spectators - be sure to bring your water bottle and sunscreen.
